April is a tough time in academia–deadlines are approaching, and students sometimes need you to pass the tissues. Plus, it’s getting warm, which fills me with seasonal dread (I know, sorry people who love summer). So it’s no surprise that I reached for the same clothing, style slightly differently, all month. Here are the MVPs.
A pleated skirt

I wore this pleated skirt over and over again. I love wearing black in the summer, especially to teach, due to sweat. However, I also decided this month to pair some black and navy, and I enjoyed the sleek vibes!
Navy tee (homemade, similar)
Black skirt (old, similar)
Green bag (similar, mine is the Everlane form bag if you want to browse secondhand!)

Short sleeve tee + wide leg pants

I don’t think I understood what people meant by a fashion uniform until I met this combo, which makes me feel perfectly simple to go to the office.
These beige wide-leg pants (size up 1) have become my favorite, especially with a light top and black accessories.
Wrap button down (similar)
Screen tee (Monet was a souvenir so similar vibe!)

I love the pants so much when they went on sale this month I grabbed the cinnamon pair (you can get an extra 20% off with PHDINCLOTHES). And then I found a similar blue pair to complete the collection.
This tee is also a necessity–I love the slightly longer sleeve, it somehow balances the outfit!
Linen pants

Somehow these super light linen pants have become my work from a coffee shop uniform. I found them secondhand and tailored to taper the legs. I instantly went into “I need a second pair” mode, but for now I’m trying to enjoy what I have!
All denim

When it’s hot, one piece is so appealing! Here I’m wearing my $1 denim dress (found at a yard sale last year) and this romper.
Pops of fun

I rented a couple of fun items this month–this floral skirt and this smiley cardigan! Both made people smile at work and I loved celebrating the changing seasons. I might keep the smiley cardigan, it is a surprisingly versatile layer?? But strangers do smile at you when wearing, which is funny because I forget all day.
That’s it! Do you have any spring outfits you love to repeat?
