Here’s my day 7 outfit of the Spring 10×10, which I wore this morning to get brunch to celebrate our 7th anniversary. And then to browse around a record store and buy some anniversary vinyl (which is I thing I made up but would now like to honor on every anniversary).
Now i’m off to the pottery lab, though, so nice clothes have to go because I’m mixing glazes for the first time today and I just know I will get them all over my shoes. In between I’ve been doing some Feminist Security Studies reading for one of my final projects. Some days grad school is full of stuff I don’t want to do, but today it is full of the things I’m 100% interested in, and that feels really nice.
Day 4: it’s super warm today and I have 6 student meetings. I guess they finally started checking their grades…
Day 3 of Spring 10×10: Today is a teaching day, but my students are doing an in-class workshop, which equals JEANS WHILE TEACHING! in my opinion. Colorado is a pretty casual place so I think teaching in jeans is okay, but I’m not sure this is true at other universities/in other regions. Does anyone teach somewhere where you are always business casual?
Today, I cheated. These shoes are not part of my 10 picks. But I realized that gray and tan is not a good combo and I needed some shoes with a cooler base to make it work. I really like this outfit, though–it feels pulled together even though I didn’t really do anything, besides pick things with cool textures while shopping.
Spring 10×10, day 2. This outfit is dedicated to it being mostly warm out. And running errands. It is not very practical for my afternoon of sitting in my house revising a paper, or my pottery class tonight, but it works for the morning.
10×10 day 1: here’s what I’m wearing to teach today. Monday is a long day for me (12 hours at school!) but I have to be in professional clothes. Culottes are the answer to this problem! And all my problems! They’re one of those trends I saw 2 years ago and thought “eh, I’ll skip it.” And then I tried some on. And I understood everything. I’ll be wearing them all summer because they’re also perfect for teaching when it’s hot out.
Starting the Style Bee/Un-Fancy Spring 10×10 style challenge on Monday. If you have lots of clothes and feel like mixing them up is difficult, you should join! Pick 10 wardrobe items and style them into 10 outfits over the next two weeks. Here’s what I’ve got: jeans, culottes, a sun dress, three shirts, two sweaters, boots, and sandals. My wardrobe is very black and white right now so I tried to pick some stuff to lighten it up.
