Cool girl conference: 6 summer conference outfits

summer conference outfits

Last week, I showed you summer conference clothing. Today, let’s style it into 6 summer conference outfits for women! If you have a hot weather conference coming up and aren’t sure how to start packing, here are some fashionable ideas.

Always start with conference shoes!

I have organized these summer conference outfits into 2 sets of 3 ideas that go with one pair of shoes. Shoes are the bulkiest part of packing and if you’re hoping to limit your work trip to a carry on, they are the weakest link. So, I try to plan my conference style around one pair when possible. Here are some ideas with brown flats:

With a white skirt: A white skirt is always a summer conference favorite. This one from Everlane looks breathable for walking between hotels. I love that the collarless blazer is slightly unexpected–I like to play around a bit more with fashion in the summer!

Yellow blazer

Tank top

White skirt

Flats

With a dress: This simple dress is so nice. I have worn it for 2 years now and it’s perfect for teaching in hot weather! With some leather accessories it sharpens up well for conferences, too. I like it with this tie belt.

Blue dress

Woven tote bag

With linen pants: You can always go archaeologist chic, am I right? Love the brown and butter yellow combo right now!

Earrings

Yellow striped top

Pants

Common feedback I get on this blog is “my conference isn’t that fancy!” My conferences tend to be business casual (ish), but at some, casual clothes are just fine! I decided to include a few casual summer staples in this round-up if that’s for you–but if you’re not sure if fisherman sandals are appropriate for your crowd, these outfits will also go nicely with white flats.

With a fancy tee: I love silk and linen in the summer, so I threw them both into this outfit so we can all feel like we’re in the south of France and not the air conditioned dimly lit conference hall.

Chain necklace

Silk tee (this has very favorable reviews about travel, but if you’re concerned about conference sweat, I always pack this layer!!)

Linen pants (under $50!)

Fisherman sandal

A dress with a twist: Because summer involves less layers, I am always looking for dresses that do a little bit more for the outfit. I love the side tie detail on this one!

Woven tote

Fun patterns: I’ve been a bit gingham-obsessed lately, so I think gingham pants might be the perfect upgrade to my summer conference attire. Don’t miss this $20 t-shirt for a casual but smart summer upgrade.

Tie top (this version has sleeves)

Gingham pants

Earrings

I hope these are helpful if you’re in need of summer conference outfits! Tell me where you’re heading in the comments?? I’m off to Denver. Stay cool out there.

PS–need a whole conference planner? Right over here! Off on an extended vacation conference? There’s a post for that.
