5 pairs of office sneakers you can wear this spring

Do you wear sneakers to work? As a professor, grad student, or teacher, there is a chance you work in an office where the line between business casual and casual style is murky! So, how to style comfy sneakers in the office? Here are a few pairs I love and how I would wear them.

White sneakers

If you’re worried about matching your tennis shoes to your outfits, white is the easiest color! I own these and love how lightweight they are, plus they are supportive. If you are concerned about white sneakers getting dirty, then Allbirds are your best bet (use PHDINCLOTHES for 15% off). I wear my off-white pair very frequently! Some outfit ideas:

-Statement trousers, a brown belt, and a black and white striped tee

-Cream-colored pants, a matching tee, and a pop of color button down

Black sneakers

Black sneakers can feel harsh, but they can also blend perfectly with work pants! I suggest suede, leather can look a bit more intense. Wear them with:

-A pastel tee, black cigarette pants, and a black belt

-A cardigan buttoned up over a white tank, layers of necklaces, and wide leg black pants

Colorful sneakers

A bright pair of sneakers can be super fun–just act like they go with everything, and suddenly you’ll find they will. Nike Daybreaks are my go-to for this, but they’ve been out of stock lately. Here’s a similar pair! Wear them with:

-A textured sweater (even if the color doesn’t match!) and wide leg black pants

-A leather blazer, pop of color tee, and black straight leg jeans

Super, super supportive sneakers

If you need a lot of arch support, you’re in luck, because sneakers like Hokas and Asics are “trendy” right now, and they’re finally making pretty running shoes. I’m definitely eyeing some sleeker Asics (note: I think this is the most divisive style–if you don’t like them, that’s cool! But “ugly” sneakers are kind of a thing right now. I think they are calmed down a bit when they’re monochrome) because they fit my feet best. How to wear them:

-An oversized pastel blazer, white tee, and white jeans (Scandi style!)

-A midi shirt dress with the sleeves rolled up, belted
