What I wore this week

May I suggest: silver cowboy boots.

Hi friends! Here are some outfits recently. It’s still really warm here (80) which is quite unseasonable for us but I’m trying to enjoy it while I can!

I wore this short sleeve sweater plus caramel pants and sneakers for a casual day of meetings. I felt like ketchup and mustard, someone else said a strawberry shortcake, food comparisons abounded, but the colors were an instant smile for me.

Also, short sleeve sweaters! They’re such a great invention for this weird in between weather!

This outfit felt like a RISK for me but it was so fun and people commented on my boots all day! I got them for our upcoming rehearsal dinner, because it’s cowboy themed and if you’re the bride you might as well do it big. They’re sold out now but here’s a good looking short pair. My button up is J. Crew and these beloved Madewell jeans are still available.

This outfit was a real sweet spot for me of an outfit that’s a little different but still appropriate for the occasions of the day. As I have said, my main goal in life is to dress fun without feeling like an asshole. The key, I think, is being weather appropriate and practical for whatever you’re doing even in your statement clothes!

Finally, I just want to point out that one trend I’m seeing this year as tall boots come back is layering them under pants for a different look. How do you get them under pants? You put the boots into the pants and then step into both. It’s a very graceful experience, I assure you 🙂

I wore this outfit to work from home. I love a long sweater and finding a long enough one is extra special (this one was gifted). I will once again shout out to these jeans, the only pair stretchy enough for sitting around all day!

Friday I wore all black to feel put together for a faculty meeting. I loved this outfit with the chunky sneakers to break up all the sleekness.

Hope you had a good week!
