The internet definitely has outfit ideas for black dresses on lock…but outfit ideas for navy dresses? I think a navy dress can be just as versatile for spring and summer work style but I always get stuck putting it with white shoes and doing nothing else. So this week I decided to try out some casual office outfits with a navy shift dress!
Black and Navy
I love black basics so as far as I’m concerned, the “don’t mix black and navy” rule is nonexistent. I thought it would be fun to put my dress with a leather jacket and ankle boots for early spring layering. My leather jacket has a waterfall but it has a zipper on it so you can remove the waterfall which is such a great idea for more versatility! I feel like without the waterfall effect it is giving me 90s leather jacket vibes.
Tan and Brown
The other neutrals I own tend to be camel-colored because I think it’s got such a polished vibe for work. We’re in that real sweet spot where you can wear sweaters and dresses without tights so I had to take advantage today and put my robe coat with snakeskin loafers! This is the perfect work from home outfit to me because I love dresses but I’m always cold at my desk.
Sporty!
You know I had to give this dress the sporty treatment for running errands and it’s by far my fave! This gave my work dress a total weekend vibe and is really making me rethink its versatility.
Powder Blue
This outfit deserves a power pose, yes? I love my new light blue blazer, found secondhand on Poshmark. I usually don’t wear lighter bright colors (jewel tones for life) but I’m enjoying a few lighter choices because they break up my outfits so much! They’re still not my favorite on me but paired with jewel tones they make my clothes feel fresh again!
Western
Is this western? I have no idea y’all 🙂 I was running out of ideas on day 5 of this style challenge and a knotted shirt can really add versatility to an outfit. I usually reach for this one when camping but thought it would be fun to elevate it with work style.
