Q & A: What do I wear to teach or TA as a graduate student?
This was my first question when I was admitted to a Masters program–how fancy do I need to get? A few business casual items can go a long way toward building your teaching wardrobe. Some to start with:
3-5 button up shirts (polka dot, maroon, buffalo checked)
Comfortable shoes! (Flats, oxfords)
A nice cardigan (thrifted, here’s a good one), and a blazer
I basically mix these items in with my casual tees, dresses, and jeans for teaching purposes.

Done done done! Grades have been submitted! Let’s karaoke!

At the end of every semester I buy myself a pair of shoes. But I also came home with a cape this time.

I call this look “what do you mean I have to get dressed to proctor this final & it’s snowing & I still have four papers to write.”

A cafe in northern Norway.

Ootd from yesterday. Shout out to it finally being cold.

Because it’s supposed to snow tomorrow in CO

Came back from the national conference last night and deliriously taught class today, which devolved into me telling my students to photoshop the head of a famous theorist on to the body of a prairie dog and long story short I had a good draft of that image in my inbox five minutes after class.
Anyway here is what I wore to a conference mixer. I think people usually stay in business clothes for these but I swapped my pumps out for boots so that I would be ready to go out after.
