Last minute holiday dressing: Just add shiny shoes

So, Christmas…is happening soon. I am totally not ready, except I did all my Christmas shopping in 2 hours on Amazon this weekend, which really eased my stress!

In terms of holiday dressing, I only made on purchase this year: silver mules.

$22 at Target.

They are super snazzy, way outside of my style comfort zone, and the exclamation point on any outfit that screams holiday. Here is how I am styling them this week.

Casual

For gift exchanges, coffee dates with old friends, proctoring final exams…you can swap in a metallic flat for just about any shoe. I paired the mules with other silver accessories and cool tones.

White button up

Jean jacket

Statement necklace (similar–J. Crew Factory is my fave for these!)

Festive shirt (similar)

Clutch (found at Target last year–this year’s version)

Dressy

I don’t go to anything too fancy this week, but for holiday parties, pairing shiny shoes with a shirt dress or soft sweater and joggers ups the game of either outfit.

Column dress

Buffalo scarf (mine is Old Navy, currently sold out)

Peacoat (thrifted–similar and on sale)

Cashmere sweater (thrifted–similar)

Joggers

Adding just a simple accessory can take the pressure off to feel the need to buy all new holiday outfits.

(PS- Is your dad one of those ‘I don’t need any gifts’ people? I got mine this and am now gifting him several books every Christmas. He loves it!).
