Hi friends! If you are feeling the stress of holiday event dressing and Thanksgiving and Christmas party outfit ideas, renting might be for you! I have enjoyed being a Rent the Runway subscriber and am currently testing out their 1o item a month plan. Here are my thoughts, plus I have a Rent the Runway promo code for close to 50% off your first month!
I do have a Rent the Runway promo code for close to 50% off your first month subscription–you can get it automatically added to your cart by clicking this link!
I am working with Rent the Runway this month, so this subscription was gifted! But I have also been a 5-item subscriber in the past!
How Rent the Runway works

Rent the Runway has one-time rentals, which you may have used for wedding guest dresses in the past! I get almost all my wedding guest dresses from Rent the Runway, but I’ve also tried their monthly clothing subscription service.
You can choose either 1 shipment of 5 items a month or 2 shipments (for a total of 10 clothing items). This includes the dresses you may have rented in the past, but also includes designer items, from pants and sweaters to purses and earrings. No shoes, though!
You can also keep items for longer; they just take up a slot–so you can ship four things back and then rent four more things, for example, while keeping a favorite.
Is Rent the Runway worth it

If you’re considering spending $130-$160 a month on a clothing subscription, you may be wondering if it’s worth it. For the 10 item a month plan, that breaks down to $16 an item, and the items are much more expensive than I would typically buy. I tried this $400 Tibi jacket this month and thought it was such a fun statement!
I would say RTR is worth it if you’re 1) stuck in a style rut and tempted to shop a lot or 2) have a lot of events coming up. If you have holiday travel coming or a Christmas party where you would typically buy a new dress, Rent the Runway can save you some money and closet space.

My other favorite item I rented this month was this statement coat–perfect because I am going to see some European cities and Christmas markets, but not something I would love to store in my closet all year round!
My Rent the Runway code works for first-time and returning subscribers–just click this link, and then when you check out with the 5 or 10-item a month plan, it will be in your cart!
What do you think? Would you try renting this holiday season? 🙂 You can also see how I rent wedding guest dresses here!
