Allbirds Pipers fit and sizing

The Allbirds Piper (which was gifted to me — my opinions are my own, and I wasn’t asked to post!) is the brand’s most casual shoe, akin to a Vans or Converse equivalent, but with a more sustainable, recyclable, and carbon-conscious approach. If you’re eyeing them, you’re probably wondering how they fit, and the good news is they’re true to size and come in half sizes.
As a women’s 10.5, I was amped about this, because many sneaker brands have simply decided my size doesn’t exist ??? and I should just pick between a 10 and an 11 ???
Anyway. The canvas piper is true to size. I found the wool piper to be a bit snug and it rubbed on my heel a bit. The canvas pipers have not given me any blisters and had no break-in time.
I’m wearing the blizzard pair, which is white with a “bark” sole. It reminds me of a gum sole and I like that it adds a bit of a vintage look to an otherwise basic white sneaker!
“But do they run warm?”

The second question I get asked about Allbirds a lot is how they are, temperature-wise. The idea of a wool sneaker can sound hot, especially for warm weather styling! I think wool enthusiasts everywhere will tell you it’s temperature regulating and not just for sweaters these days. Nonetheless, the canvas piper is lighter than the wool piper.
While it is lighter, it’s not as breezy as the Tree Runner, which I highly recommend if you are prone to your feet feeling hot. The new Allbirds Cruiser also looks like a breathable version of the Piper!
