Spring 2025 fashion trends to upgrade your wardrobe fast

If you are unpacking your spring clothes and find they’re a bit dated, you might get the shopping bug. I have been, too, and I’ve been looking for some simple spring 2025 fashion trends to upgrade my closet. I don’t want to get too carried away (we’re on a budget!), so here are a few style trends that I think will go the distance for this season.

If you’re browsing for spring style for women in 2025 on like, Vogue or a similar website, you’ll probably see a few trends surface. The first thing you’ll need to decide is whether to buy into those trends or not. Here’s my checklist for how I decide:

• What did I think when I first saw this fashion trend? If my kneejerk reaction was “not for me,” I try not to succumb to advertising pressure!
• Does this solve a fit or outfit issue? I walk a lot, so when “dad sneakers” were trending I stocked up. I’m tall, so now that wide leg, full inseam jeans are back, I’m on a buying spree. Conversely, I’m tall, so I will be skipping the capri pants trend.
• Would I like it if it wasn’t trending? There are some things I’ve just always loved. Soft green (seafoam?) is a trending color this spring, and I think it looks nice on me. Add to cart!

With that in mind, here are some spring closet refresh items I’m looking forward to!

Minimalist sandals

Big shoes have been trendy for a few years now, but slimmer silhouettes are making a comeback. These sandals are comfy, very understated, and under $50 (yes, they’re from Crocs–I never thought I would be linking Crocs!).

Trending spring color: pistachio green

As mentioned above, light green is back! The last time it was “in” I was in high school and buying all my casual spring outfits at Forever 21 (RIP). I’m excited to buy a couple pieces that might survive a trip through the washer this time around. I’m currently eyeing this lightweight blazer as well.

Statement necklaces

Unlike the bubble necklaces of the 2010s, but yes, big necklaces are back! I would pick one up in whatever jewelry finish you like best. You can also wade into this trend slowly with a slightly bigger layering necklace if you want!

The tiny tee, but for adults

The trending silhouette recently has been big pants, tiny top. But I’m in my 30s, so my tiny top can’t be that tiny. This bra top is going to be so good for warmer temps (it has built in cups, not just a sad built in bandeau). I love the olive stripe version, and this spring staple is under $40!

A bag with texture

There have been several “it” bags over the last few years that have strong texture: woven bags, basket bags, etc. The great news is, this trend feels like a pretty timeless way to announce that spring is here. And, woven and basket bags are in abundance secondhand! Here’s an etsy pick to get you started!
