Boody Wear Review: Sustainable Activewear and Underwear

Boody wear leggings and activewear review

I have been trying the Boody padded shaper bra and underwear for a few months, and now have had the chance to try their new leggings and activewear. Everything by Boody is made with bamboo–a sustainable material–and it’s all been really well suited to my stay at home life in 2020. Here is my review and thoughts on sizing, comfort, and how the new activewear survived my workout test.

Activewear:

Boody wear leggings and activewear review

Boody has had leggings for a couple years now, but just came out with new leggings that have a bit more compression–less lounge, more workout, if you will. They reached out to see if I would like to try them and given my love of their bras and underwear I said yes!

One thing you might not know about me: I have a secret life as a Zumba teacher. I’ve been teaching 2 virtual classes a week this year (message me on ig if you want to join in!). So when the Boody package arrived 30 minutes before my Thursday class, I ripped it right open and decided it was trial by fire time.

First impressions: This active muscle tank is so so cozy. It somehow feels…springy? Spongey? I don’t know but it’s a cool texture that felt flexible and not as slick as other moisture-wicking styles I’ve tried before. I loved the coverage for class and see it joining the regular rotation for sure.

The high-waist leggings have some compression but not as much as other styles I usually reach for (Athleta, Fabletics). I liked them for Zumba but the range of motion could have been a bit greater in them–I think from now on I’ll use them for hiking or weightlifting instead (they have already passed the hiking test as you can see!).

Both items ran true to the size chart on Boody’s website–I chose a medium in both. I machine wash and line dried the set and everything still looks good as new.

Bras and underwear:

This review is quite overdue because I’ve been wearing the Boody padded shaper bra (gifted) for about 6 months now! It’s perfect for lounging and I appreciate the coverage of the padding–it feels secure but not over the top. I wear a large in this bra–definitely check the size chart! It goes by cup size and they are not lying!!! I also bought a couple of the unpadded shaper bra to lounge around in but I favor the padded bra overall.

I also have a pair of the midi brief (gifted). I feel pretty cute when I wear them together tbh. I got a large in them due to the size chart but think I should have gone with a medium, which I will probably do when I go back for more pairs! They don’t budge which I find really key in a brief style.
