The week in tired mirror selfies

Here’s what I wore and read this week. I teach at 8 on Monday and Wednesday so forgive my look of exhaustion, k?

Monday: I wore this to teach. A coworker said I looked cool. I was affirmed.

Tank top: Eileen Fisher (psst these are pretty abundant in thrift stores)

Skirt: thrifted Madewell (similar)

Flats: Frye

Tuesday: I wore this to visit a grad class and talk about my research. Gotta recruit those future advisees 😉 This outfit was soooo immensely comfortable. I had been working on a stressful project all morning and when I put it on I instantly felt more at ease. The power of clothes people!!!

Top: Thrifted (Similar)

Pants: Brass (Get $30 off here)

Shoes: Thrifted (Similar)

Wednesday: More teaching. This outfit felt so great in person but just didn’t photograph as well.

Top: Taylor Tall

Pants: Gap (Old, but here is this season’s version)

Shoes: Thrifted (Similar)

Thursday: I wore this to meet with the dean and talk about current research projects in our college. It was funny, I felt like my most “on point” outfits were already gone for the week and maybe I should have saved them. But I felt very me in this outfit so that was a win.

Top: thrifted Theory

Pants: Everlane (Get $ off if you’ve never purchased from Everlane before)

Shoes: Frye

  1. You can find some great deals on Eileen Fisher (like the tank, I just bought one myself) from Eileen Fisher ReNew. It’s their website where they sell gently used/like new EF products as part of their recycling program. I found a grey silk sweater tank for $35. And if something doesn’t fit it can be returned. There is a link to the site from their main website.

    1. Ahh thank you! It has been a challenge to see where I fit when most of the people rocking ethical brands definitely have a distinct “look”–or on pinterest where all the images are of work clothes are people in 4″ heels! That means a lot!!!
